AVMHS 2012 Annual Meeting in San Diego
The business meeting and morning program will take place on Monday, August 6, 2012, during the AVMA Convention in San Diego, California. Business will include reports, elections, and suggestions for funding the Bierer book and essay contest. Elections are for the 2012-2013 President-elect, two Board members, and Secretary/Treasurer.
Program Chair Martha Littlefield has arranged for several presentations following a short break after the business meeting.

Get-together for Lunch on August 6
An informal lunch close by is planned following the program. It should provide an informal opportunity to meet other members of AVMHS face-to-face, as well as possibly chat with some speakers.
Exhibit Booth #2036
Our booth will focus on aspects of the “History of Marine Mammal Veterinary Medicine” in conjunction with the National Marine Mammal Foundation (NMMF) and U.S. Navy Marine Mammal Program based in San Diego. Among the items featured will be a life-size model of “Tuffy”, Dr. Ridgway’s primary dolphin, along with other models. Ultrasound and CT scanning equipment and additional historical instruments utilized by Dr. Ridgway and his colleagues in their pioneering work with marine mammals will also be on display.
A review copy of the new transcription of Bierer’s 1940 book, American Veterinary History, will be available as well.
