This set of 125 slides was compiled by Fred J. Born, DVM of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on the occasion of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the first veterinary school in Lyon, France in 1761 and worldwide celebration of Vet2011.

The story covers over 2200 years of the evaluation of the study of veterinary medicine. It is a journey from the writings of Hippocrates to Claude Bourgelat's classic text, Elements of Hippiatry and New Knowledge of Equine Medicine.
